In a world where many are silenced by adversity, Khali Raymond, professionally known as Savage Writer, has turned his challenges into a powerful platform. Hailing from Newark, New Jersey, Khali is a multi-talented artist whose work spans writing, performing, acting, and now filmmaking. With over a decade of artistic experience, he has become a voice of resilience, healing, and transformation—an example of what’s possible when talent meets tenacity.

The Origin of a Storyteller

Khali’s journey is rooted in overcoming hardship. After losing his father at a young age and being raised by a single parent, he was met with chronic bullying and the weight of internal battles—struggling with Asperger’s, depression, anxiety, psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES), low self-esteem, and suicidal ideation. These experiences could have broken him—but instead, they built him. A severe heartbreak through a failed twin flame connection became a catalyst, lighting the fire that would push him to rise.

“I didn’t just survive—I evolved,” Khali shares. “Writing helped me find myself again. It helped me speak when I felt voiceless.”

The Birth of Savage Writer

Savage Writer was born out of that transformation. Writing was more than an escape—it was his lifeline. In 2014, at just fifteen years old, Khali published his first book, The Ballad of Sidney Hill. Since then, he has gone on to publish over thirty books, each work a testament to growth, vulnerability, and empowerment. A new book is already in development for release in 2026.

Graduating from Berkeley College in 2019 and Kean University in 2022, Khali is a two-time college graduate who used education as a tool for self-liberation and creative expansion. He credits his storytelling for helping him reclaim his confidence, refine his voice, and reclaim his identity as an artist and leader.

The Performer and the Voice

Beyond the page, Khali has become a dynamic presence on stage. He has performed for two of the world’s largest poetry platforms, Poetry Me Please and Voices in Power, delivering raw, soul-baring pieces that speak to trauma, love, healing, and hope. His performances are not just entertainment—they are catharsis, both for him and his audiences.

Over the years, Khali has graced hundreds of open mics and creative showcases, captivating listeners with his authenticity and emotional depth. Last year, in 2024, he celebrated a monumental milestone—ten years as a professional artist.

Expanding the Vision

Khali’s creative ambitions continue to evolve. With aspirations in acting, he is set to appear in several upcoming productions. He’s also exploring filmmaking and directing, taking his passion for storytelling to the screen and beyond. His mission is clear: to inspire others through every medium he touches.

A Message That Echoes

What makes Khali’s journey resonate is not just his success—but the story behind it. He was doubted, dismissed, and underestimated. Yet he endured. He turned humiliation into honor, and adversity into artistry. Today, Khali Raymond stands tall as Savage Writer, a living message that “no matter what you go through, if you set your mind to it, you can achieve anything.”

As he continues to grow, create, and inspire, one thing is certain: Savage Writer has now, next, and forever.
